Sundays at VOUS Church are for celebrating, serving others, and refreshing each other with the love of Christ as we walk into the week ahead. We believe that as we serve and refresh each other, we ourselves are refreshed. After spending our Saturday morning serving our community at I Love My City, this principle rang especially true.

As the first light of day stretched across Jose De Diego Middle School this Sunday, Servant Leader teams and churchgoers filled the halls with welcome hearts, smiling faces, and the promise of friendship— a refreshing reminder to many that you belong here.

If You Remain

Starting off this year, many of us have made decisions to make changes in our lives. We want things to be different this year, we want to grow in areas that we have neglected, or that we have lost passion in. Yet if we’re honest, many times we fail to keep our commitments that we make to ourselves. Pastor Dawncheré reminds us that if we want our relationship with God, relationships with people, our investments, and influence grow, we must choose to remain.

“Commitment means choosing to remain. Sometimes it’s as simple as that.”Pastor Dawncheré Wilkerson

In John 15:5, Jesus states “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” Rather than simply being close to God, we must remain connected by maintaining a relationship with Christ. Pastor Dawncheré reminds us that when we surrender our dreams, plans, relationships and everything else to God, he transforms our lives for the better.
