Miami welcomed winter— all 73ºF of it— as people dusted off their Christmas sweaters and streamed into Jose De Diego Middle School to celebrate with church family and friends this weekend.
Continuing in our sequence of talks themed “Comfort & Joy,” Pastor Rich invited us to look again in Isaiah 40:9-11 where he introduced us to the idea of getting “Comfortably Uncomfortable.” When we hear good news, it’s our natural desire to want to share it. Isaiah called the people in the midst of their discomfort to spread good news.
“Once we have been comforted by Him, He asks us to go and get uncomfortable for Him.”Rich Wilkerson, Jr.
Jesus came and got uncomfortable so that we could experience comfort. But our faith doesn’t end there. Once we have been comforted, God asks us to sacrifice our comfort for the sake of those around us. As we turn our thoughts in this season toward what God has done for us, let us not forget how crucial it is to share what we have been given, now and always.
